blog imageStarting at WPC last year, the ScaleArc/Microsoft partnership took on a much higher level of intensity. Our joint success showed last week with ScaleArc being named a Finalist for 2016 Microsoft Partner of the Year in Data Platform. Considering Microsoft had more than 2500 applicants to choose from, we’re really proud of this award!

How did we get here? Lots of work! And lots of wins. Some of the highlights of our past year together:

What’s next?

Big Oracle take out wins.

SQL Server + ScaleArc beats Oracle RAC in resiliency. Together, our software makes database failover fast and invisible to the customer. That’s not a claim Oracle can make, even with RAC, and the ScaleArc/SQL Server combination comes in at a fraction of Oracle’s cost and complexity. We’re already working on displacing 1000s of RAC servers at Fortune 500 companies – we’re going to have a lot of fun together this coming year.

More Modern SQL deployments.

With ScaleArc, customers can tap into the power of Modern SQL Server and AlwaysOn without making code changes. That’s huge. A big impediment to leveraging AlwaysOn – or readable secondaries in any database – is the need to program the app to send read-only queries to those secondaries. With ScaleArc, that read/write split capability is automatic – enterprises can let any app use scaled out databases without writing a single line of code. SQL Server 2016 – here we come!

Getting database workloads into Azure– for SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.

ScaleArc makes it easier to adopt cloud services for database workloads. In the cloud, database instances tend to be a lot smaller – the ScaleArc software can make multiple instances look like one big database, so enterprises can avoid app changes. Also, cross-region failover can be really tricky, but ScaleArc makes that process seamless for the app and its users.

We’re very proud of the recognition this award signifies and we’re ready to get started on another great year of working with Microsoft!
